Obviously not so active, yeah? Well, I shall tell why, as I'm sure you've all be pinning after the reason of my absence... like, so not true, yeah? (there is some pretty cool stuff ahead. Just saying.)
(Skip this paragraph if busy... seriously. I just needed to vent.)
To get the bitchiness that is me on the subject of school marks out of the world, I failed an assignment for the first time ever - and I mean it. Not, "Oh no! I only got 85%!" No, I actually managed to get a 60%, followed by a 40% and then another 40%. My average in Social (grade 12... yes, I am only in grade 11, however) took a dip to a place where no average of mine had ever been. Apparently the teacher, lovely as. He. Is. decided that he would be marking the papers like they will be marked at the actual diploma (which is our government's name for official finals... not just inclass finals, because we have those as well). But, I got 100% on the last one, so, hope for the future yet! And I'm sure I'll thank him for marking hard when the real thing comes around.
So, for the real exciting stuff.
For the next month or so, I have a Japanese student staying with me. She comes from my school's sister school in Japan. Her first name is Ayano, though I called her by her family name for the first little while. She's truly a joy to be around! While she doesn't understand my parents - they will say something in English to her, and she'll turn to me, I'll repeat it, and she'll somehow understand - and her vocabulary is a tad limited, I am enjoying her stay immensely. She makes me happy, just by being around. I am quite glad I signed up for this hosting program, and am happy to have met her.
Now, for the really awesome stuff... for real, now.
So, on the day that I went to pick up Ayano (just me driving the car by myself was a shock for her... go my province's rules on being able to get your full licence at 16!!) a teacher approached me. For the past fifteen years or so, a student from Japan has been staying nearly a full school year with us - no one from our end has ever done the same. So, I was quite surprised when she asked me if I was interested in being the first.
After a while or so, at least four other, independent "parties" approached me with the same question. So, with a little discussion, I finally set things into motion today! There are a few issues of radiation in the area, but we're not sure if its the place I would be going in question that has the warning; we also have to get other stamps of approval, such as from our government. But, if things do work out, I will be there for eight to ten months and going to school there. In any case, I will end up having a thirteenth year of High School.
Now hold onto your pants, some of this may get a little tricky - but just because I'm explaining it. I lived in two provinces, and when I started school in the first, I was a year younger than a child can be to start school in the other province. So, to make it clearer, because I was born in a kind of in-between month (or something like that... province is involved...) I should actually be in grade ten, not grade eleven - or, I could be. Maybe not should. Because of this, I might be able to do my grade twelve year next year, and then, AFTER I graduate, I could then go to Japan. I don't turn eighteen until two months after I technically finish high school, so I would still be of age to do another year of High School.
However, if the Japanese school does not agree to this, I will end up going there next year, and when I come back, I will do grade twelve (which will be my THIRTEENTH year of school, by all rights). I would prefer the first option, for then I could finish with all my friends in my year and do the whole graduation experience with them - though I was assured by quite a few that they would come to my graduation if I end up taking grade twelve a year after them. In any case, I will end up there longer than most people, but it doesn't bother me much. Why would I give up such an amazing experience just because I don't want an extra year of school? And I could also see my friends (and make new ones... GASP!!) outside of school.
Well, now you know of the interesting-ness that is plaguing my waking and dreaming moments - I am having a lot of dreams recently, too. Surprisingly enough, mostly of made up characters, and I'm sure that if I don't finish my second book soon, I'm going to be murdered... repeatedly.
How is everyone else doing? Let me know!
... and if you have sent messages to me and stuff, I will hope to get on it soon. And
... soon, I will get you SOMETHING corrected.
Don't judge me for mistakes please... because I WILL!!!
P.S.
I am having a temporary tryst with the !. I will to let him/her/whatever/it? when ELA rolls around.
